The Solar Powered Phone by Samsung

Here's an interesting gadget from Samsung with a model made from recycled plastic with a solar panel on the back for charging. Samsung said in a statement its "Blue Earth" solar-powered model had a touch screen and was made from plastic taken from used water bottles. It did not give pricing information or say when the phone would go on sale.

Newest PDA Phone In the Market: Samsung Instinct

Very similar to the iPhone - it actually looks and feels like an Apple iPhone, Samsung's Instinct is the spitting image of iPhone, I'm the one worried about patent issues and stuff like that. It has a touch-screen interface, wireless internet, multimedia functions, bluetooth, camera, camcorder, expandable memory, GPS, email and web browsing, with other features that may put it just a short step above Apple's iPhone.

Instinct also comes with first-rate voice-command features. Simply press the voice-input ('Speech to Action') button on the right side, and you can initiate calls or text messages to contacts in your address book, or launch key applications.

The Next iPhone Challenger -- Samsung's Instinct

There's a new line to challenge the touch-screen iPhone competitor from Sprint and Samsung called Instinct according to ZDNet-- this apparently from Gizmodo

Announced at CTIA, the 3.1-inch touchscreen Instinct has a few things that iPhone doesn’t, namely localized haptic feedback, EV-DO Rev A, GPS, microSD slot, and three (count ‘em) hard navigation keys.

There’s also voice activation, Sprint TV (live and on-demand programming) and Pocket Express, which gives up-to-date information on sports, weather, news, movie times and other customized options based on the user’s zip code.

Instinct measures 2.17 inches by 4.57 inches by 0.49 inches, weighs under 4.5 ounces and will be available in June.
